Photo ID is About Election Security - on Defend the Vote

 

Photo ID is clearly a security issue.  There is a simple way to assure that no voter is disenfranchised on Election Day because they forgot their ID.  That method is to allow them to take a "provincial ballot" which permits them to prove their identity through an alternate source or within a week of the election.

 

Illinois is not seriously considering Photo ID for Election Day voting.  Currently ID is required to vote early, but not on Election Day.  This could change after the November elections, but until then, we can increase security by citizen action on Election Day.  Pollwatchers….
